Rrrrrgh

I will never work for another non-profit run by bean counters. I’m only sticking here for now out of personal loyalty to my boss; otherwise I would be out the door somethin’ fast.

I know exactly what you’re talking about. Some of the people who run non-profits are terrible people. It’s sad; the people who should be the best people, people who run non-profits and who work in health care, are so often the worst people.

I don’t know if I’d say terrible people (don’t know if I wouldn’t, since I don’t know anybody at the main office personally, though I have spoken with many of them on the phone and eat at a cafe down the street from them a few times a year). It’s more like everything lately has been “How cheap can we do things?” I understand an ethic of ‘How cost-effectively can we achieve our objectives”, but it’s gone way beyond that into the realm of making really bad decisions to save a few bucks. Nothing illegal or outright horrific, but things that do negatively impact the lives of the kids we work with, and make our jobs harder and more frustrating. My boss is a stand up lady but the people above her are driving me nuts.
